Marker Flash on a Ferrari 328
Ferrari 308 and 328 models do not have "wraparound" turn signals, where the turn signal assemblies occupy the "corner" of the car and can be seen from both front and side angles. So in the case of non-wraparound turn signal assemblies, the turn signal indicator cannot be seen if standing purely to the side of the car. This can present a safety hazard to other cars beside you that may not see you when turning, for example, when changing lanes on a highway or in some intersection configurations.
For increased visiblity of the driver's intentions as suggested by the turn signal, flashing the side "marker" lamps in sync with the main turn signal can be done as a simple modification.
I performed this modification on my 1987 Ferrari 328 GTS in about two hours. It is fully reversible and involves only novice-level electrical techniques (splicing, grounding, reading wiring diagrams). The same technique should easily translate to the 308 as well, and probably to other cars of the same era.
The technique was taken directory from Daneil Stern's article Flashing Sidemarker Lamps.
Here are a few videos showing the final result.
